About 2 weeks ago, I decided to pay our Spice Garden a visit. That was the first macro photography excursion and I was really excited. But halfway on the MRT, I discovered I left the battery at home. Man, so I attempted the shots with my mobile instead. make the best of the situation right?

Spice Garden is situated at Fort Canning Park. It took me a while climbing the hill; that reminds me I really should get some exercise. The park is well-directed with names of spices illustrated throughout. They even have real spices such as cinnamon and jasmine kept in a coconut stand near the plant. Its fun rubbing leaves, touching seeds and looking at the flowers.

The large flower is a ginger flower. Pretty isnt it? I could imagine it looking beautiful in a bouquet. I also found Malay berries (green round fruit like). If I remembered correctly, they are used as medicine for external injuries. I think they look wonderful as fillers.

Getting there
Douby Gaut or City Hall MRT
