Chrysanthemums are stunning large blooms that come in varied colors like red, yellow and orange. They have been widely used in offerings and prayers in Chinese customs. These days I see more chrysanthemum-inspired designs that have been given a modern uplift. Paul & Joe is one of the companies. Upon surfing online for a wedding guest book, I also chanced upon this.
The above bright chrysanthemum-embroidered cushion is so lovely I can’t keep my eyes off it. It kind of reminded me of this Chinese movie called Curse of the Golden Flower (黄金甲 ) where a lot of chrysanthemum are being used. The empress starring Gong Li stitched a golden chrysanthemum on each scarf and it is meant to be worn by each member of her ally army on the Chrysanthemum Festival. That stitch was so pretty.
PS. I tried to source online for a picture but can’t find it. If you know where I can get it, please do share and I’ll add it into this post for everyone’s browsing.

A comfy armchair in red bloom prints and dark wood antique legs. That chrysanthemum cushion looks great in the setting. Remember I talked about Oncidium orchids in the blue crackle dynasty vase? I think it looks better than the roses in the background.

I love nature and the outdoor. It is always nice to spend a lazy afternoon reading a book and drinking freshly-squeezed orange juice. The day-bed above from Sarah Kaye Representation, is a wonderful place to spend those quiet afternoons. I think those cushions look great in the setting too.
Side Idea:
If you have one of those wooden outdoor patio, its a great idea hosting a party there. You can use hanging lanterns over trees or scrubs. Line canopy ceiling with colored drape. Cover the table with a pretty table cloth. Use fun-colored dinner ware on the table. Bright orange and pink chrysanthemum look stunning as center-pieces. Guests can be seated on the floor. Those chrysanthemum cushions will be wonderful throws on the floor.
